Closing the gap

Jaime DeGuzman

President of the Board

Before founding Holistica, Jaime spent over a decade practicing acupuncture where he could see first hand how this modality is affordable by only a small percentage of our population. By using the nonprofit model, Jaime brings acupuncture, and other CAM modalities, to those that cannot afford it. Jaime is the current owner of Water Tiger Acupuncture (www.watertigeracupuncture.com) and the co-founder of Kalya (www.kalyahealth.com). Before studying acupuncture, Jaime earned a B.S. in Computer Science and spent 15 years in Silicon Valley working in different capacities for several high tech companies.

Soledad Carvajal

Vice-President of the Board

Before Soledad became a Certified Heath Coach, she was a stay-at-home mom where she took care of her family. Due to health problems Soledad began exploring alternative medicine and was amazed by the results. Her passion led her wanting to learn more and to share her knowledge with others. As a professional Health Coach she has been helping clients individually and through workshops. An expert in guiding clients on how to reach their health and lifestyle goals, Soledad’s achievement in the community is backed by countless heartfelt testimonials of her clients. Soledad’s leadership and compassion were strengthened by her work at the Women Crisis Support, SDC of SCCS where she had the opportunity to work with many underprivileged families. One of her biggest dreams is that the underprivileged have the same opportunity to explore the world of alternative medicine.
